An easy butternut squash air fryer recipe with maple syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon that cooks in less than 30 minutes. Get perfect air fried squash faster than an oven can do.
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the butternut squash cubes, oil, and salt.
In a single layer, spread the squash cubes out in the basket, leaving room between each piece.
Set the air fryer cook time to 18+ minutes and flip the butter squash after 10 minutes. Cook for a longer time if needed, or until the squash can easily be pierced with a fork and is turning golden brown on the outside. Our basket style air fryer took exactly 18 minutes total to cook squash cut into 1" cubes.
Remove from the air fryer and add the contents to a small bowl. Mix in the maple syrup. Sprinkle with a little cinnamon before serving, add more salt and pepper, if preferred.
Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes
Feel free to use another type of oil instead of avocado like coconut oil, olive oil, or canola, a neutral mild-tasting oil works best since you're combining the flavor with maple syrup.Be sure to preheat the air fryer to get a consistent cooking time per the instructions. The air fried butternut squash recipe will work for either a basket style air fryer or an oven style model and should be a similar cook time.Spreading the squash out in a single layer with room on all sides works best.If you have a large air fryer there'll probably be enough room to cook an entire cubed squash, which means double the salt, oil, cinnamon, and maple syrup if you want to cook an entire squash at one time.Instead of maple syrup and cinnamon, you can also add black pepper, dried herbs, parmesan, or honey.Other vegetables to mix with the squash would be Brussel Sprouts, sweet potatoes, or potato cubes.
